Key fob programming.
A clearer next step.

A remote can look perfect and still be wrong for the car. Programming begins with matching the vehicle, key system and replacement part.

The situation.

Remote buttons, an immobilizer chip and proximity starting can be separate functions. A fob that unlocks the doors may still fail to start the engine. A worn battery can also mimic a more complicated problem.

The approach to your vehicle.

Describe what still works and what has stopped. We review the vehicle and part details, explain whether your supplied remote is a candidate and confirm programming availability before accepting the job.

Questions about key fob programming.

Can you program a fob I bought elsewhere?

Sometimes, if the part is compatible and reusable for the vehicle. Availability is assessed before work is agreed; purchasing a remote does not guarantee it can be programmed.

Does a fob battery change erase programming?

Many remotes retain their programming during a battery change, but behavior varies. Follow the vehicle owner’s manual and describe the symptoms if it still fails.

Can I copy a smart key just by cutting the blade?

The emergency blade is usually only one part of a smart-key system. Engine authorization may need a separate electronic process.
